Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union has offered financial services to the Puget Sound region since 1934. We are a not-for-profit banking alternative, owned by the people we work to serve – our members. This means PSCCU returns earnings to our members in the form of higher interest rates on savings accounts, lower rates on loans and superior services.
We take great pride in helping each and every member get the best value for their dollar through low-cost or free benefits.
Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union, originally chartered in 1934 as Puget Sound Power & Light Employees Credit Union, remains the not-for-profit banking alternative owned by you, our members. In the 1970’s, we became Puget Power Credit Union. In 1997, Puget Power merged with Washington Natural Gas and became Puget Sound Energy (PSE). As a result, we became Puget Sound Energy Credit Union (PSE Credit Union or PSECU). In 2009 we decided to change our name to Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU). The new name helps communicate that membership is open to anyone who lives in the state, not just PSE employees. PSCCU – serving the Puget Sound region and beyond since 1934, one member at a time.
